Christmas Gift - Epsom Salt

Here is a Christmas gift that I give to you.

The greatest gifts have hidden historical value.   The Brits started mining this stuff in the late 1800's I believe.    The greatest gifts cannot be exploited by the Numerati.  I will address the Numerati in future posts.  I will give credit to a blog contributor who as far as I know coined the term Numerati.   It is like the Illuminati but (scary thought) wider spread.

Don't laugh now...here it is, the gift that is....Epsom Salt.

What a terrible marketing name, and you better be thankful for the terrible name.   Because it will allow you to buy this product at reasonable prices for a long time, until the mining group for Epsom gets into the 21st century, good luck with that, and let's hope it takes a long time.

Executive summary:
Epson salt
  1. Lousy Name
  2. Basic component in expensive bath products.
  3. Soothes aching muscles
  4. Provides for a good sleep
  5. Regulates stress level by chemical action
  6. Resolves many skin irritation issues
  7. Inexpensive when bought at Walmart and others.

Put 1 cup to 1 full quart into bath water, soak.   It is really that simple.   Do not worry about leaving a bit residual on your skin, no need to shower afterwords, it is better to leave the residual.

If injured, in addition to the bath, pour crystals into a hot water soaked towel, and wrap around injured joint.  Soak while watching Dancing with the Stars, ouch!

Seriously folks, this stuff is magic.   But it is a basic mineral with a terrible name, therefore no one markets it, or tells the truth about it.

Think you need a $75 professional massage?   Maybe you just need a 75c soak in Epsom.

I am not joking, try this stuff, $3 per quart roughly, in Hawaii, much cheaper on mainland I am sure

Airplane Crashes and Smoking

Last week I was reading some stuff on Tobacco Bonds.   Raising money now based on expectations of future smoking.   If smoking rate goes down, many Tobacco Bonds will default.   Another reason to not actually reign in tobacco.   Ouch.

Indeed, tobacco is the devil's weed, Obama is trying to quit, chewing nicotine gum....that will never work. Nicotine is incredibly addictive.   Any industry exec who says it is not should just be thrown in jail for crimes against humanity.    I quit 8 ? 12 years ago.   Long enough ago to not even remember, Long enough to consider it a solid win.

The point?

A plane crash goes down in history, something about 400 human falling to their death from the sky hit's our pysche so hard.

But smoking kill 50 people per hour, 400 killed every 8 hours.

That is like a large plane crash every 8 hours, and yet where is the outrage?

I saw cigarettes in the gas mart selling for $8 per pack, obviously that is not enough to deter someone who is addicted to cigarettes.

Comments?   Think about those airplanes.   Think of what costs and civil liberties we give up to keep those humans moving through the air, yet turn a blind eye to tobacco.

Short Tobacco Bonds?   Don't even know how to research that.   Maybe I'll ask my Morgan Stanley rep.

Happy Kayakers and ISEE addition to "Real Data"

Internet connection and TV was down all day, flash floods in Hawaii, quite a mess.   Power stayed on at least.  9000W PV system was making 37Watts, that is some dark skies!   Still have not looked at market close, or any market data today.   figures...I was up for the open, no internet at all, couldn't even grab a wireless connection.

This is a play on words of Happy Campers, like all those homeless in tent cities...I am sure they are happy campers!   :)

And below a link to the "Real Data" Page of Hawaii Trading.  Quickly--this project is intended to provide spreadsheets of real data for free.   Long term historical data, is the only way to put the current situation into perspective.

Well this ISEE data is only back to 2002, but thought it would be good to post anyway.   this is investing sentiment.    Which is very positive right now.   And that is  a negative, got it?

Tim Knight did a Monte Python post that I thought was hilarious, and thought I would post up a little political satire also.

And look at how traded currency markets are.

Doctor J Charts of Interest

As one reader wrote....I don't know why but I keep thinking about joining the Army.

This set of charts from Doctor J who has insightful posts on Daneric usually will spice up the Christmas season.   What charts?

OK DO SOMETHING,

  1. Sign up as a follower;
  2. Visit some of the advertisers that help keep this site free
  3. Or leave a comment or screencast post of your own.

or do all three!!!!! so to speak.

Well, go ahead with what you've already captured.  I just don't think my charts are particularly outstanding (otherwise I'd profit a lot more than I do).  On the other hand, I would guess the vast majority of the charts we see posted end up being wrong to some degree.  Heck, I'm still not sure how to chart P1 (if it actually exists) -- and it's been almost 2 years.  Context matters.  Hopefully we bounce our ideas around a forum like this and everyone trades with a more clear (though always imperfect) perspective.

Fireworks MX is now "outdated" so maybe getting it for free isn't outrageous.  The new version (Fireworks CS5) would cost about $300.  IMO, Fireworks MX is perfectly fine for most web applications.

Fear Factor 2,

Bonds had an interesting day, Buy America Bonds is apparently going away, so States are going to be screwed in trying to refinance their debt.

This will be a good time for the Federal gov to do a power grab over the states, as the states will be on their knees.

DECEMBER 11 to 13 -- CRITICAL!! Direction to be set at least for a while? Astro by Tommy

Dec. 11, 2010 - w/Mars [T square w/ Saturn & Uranus -- (& Jupiter -- wide)]

December 11 could be a big day, other Astro sites also show significant activity through Dec 13, do a Google search--I added a few charts of my own, I only picked 2 dates, 1803 and 1903 and they both saw good size moves down, although spanning over months.

A few days back I made an online request for data that I can publish under the "Real Data" page of this website.   I received a few responses, some of which require data to be crunched.  To a great extent the daily price of various commodities and indices SHOULD NOT be information that anyone needs to pay for.   These are not government secrets.    This is basic data that has been published in newspapers, on radio, on the ticker tape, and lately on the internet.

So far I just published price of Silver data.   Please visit real data and let me know what you think, the excel spreadsheet is not "pristine" but all the data is there.

We need more than just 25 years of data, since the last 25 years has been pretty non-typical.    If you don't understand this, I highly recommend you educate yourself about this, because we have the front row seats for a multi-century series of events that is playing out in front of us.

One of the data contributors was Tommy, who I later found out was very well versed in Astro.

I have no time to further review this, dig into previous financial crisis dates, etc, and have to get back to some government bids so I can get my share of my tax money back.   I am only partially joking on that.

ASTRO BY TOMMY

Steve,

It is my sincere hope that the data I forwarded to you can be used
by yourself and others for productive research, hopefully enabling significant
contributions to the technical analytical literature.

Here are some of the best examples of Mercury's stations on
Pluto with other planetary bodies involved in the show.  I've
included the ephemerides so that you or anyone else so inclined
can check my work and perhaps provide additional clarity.

I don't think this inventory is complete (through the 1693 database),
but I think that these are most of the Mercury stations on Pluto
which involve multiple planetary elements.

I think this idea needs more development to get it to the desired
state of refinement.

The 1987 and 1720 crash provide without question the best
clarity of how vicious this Pluto clustering can be.

This time (Dec. 11 Mercury station) -could- be a dud, but my guess
is that it will not be and that we will get a significant decline on big volume.

       Oct. 16, 1987  -  w/Venus [Jupiter in 180 deg. aspect to Pluto]
       Sept. 9, 1976  -  w/Venus & Mars
       June 11, 1940 -  w/Mars [Jupiter & Saturn in 90 deg. aspect to Pluto]
May 23, 1903  -  Mars station in square aspect to Pluto [T square w/ Jupiter & Uranus]
June 11, 1890  -  Mars station July 5 opposition Pluto [Saturn 90 deg. aspect to Pluto]
March 9, 1803  -  Mars station square Pluto Jan. 31 (note the March 1 inflection in the retracement; although the Mars station was inexact by 18 deg.
I've learned that stations increase the orb of influence by twice the arc range, at a minimum.  A lag phenomenon
involved here, I believe.  Note that Saturn was opposing Pluto.  A big T square was formed between Mars, Saturn & Pluto here.

       March 15, 1796  - squared by transiting Mars [T square w/ Saturn & Uranus]
Dec. 28, 1772  -  Note the inflection point March 1 & further downside at the Mars direct station opposition Pluto (March 1 station)
Dec. 9, 1760  -  w/Venus & Mars (not a crash, but clear inflection point in retracement) [Saturn 90 deg. aspect]
       Dec. 20, 1754  -  w/Mars [T square w/ Jupiter & Uranus]
       Sept. 20, 1720  -  w/Sun, Venus & Mars
       Aug. 10, 1696  -  w/Sun & Venus (further decline in bear)

      Dec. 11, 2010  -  w/Mars [T square w/ Saturn & Uranus -- (& Jupiter  -- wide)]

Fear Factor, Cable, and the New Moon

I am basing my decisions on a 7 day run down from here, into mid December, followed by a pounding rally to end the year and secure bonuses for da poor Boyz of HBB.

200 years of Health and Financial Progress - Neat Video

Blame it on Mercury

Mercury Retrograde (appearance of going "backwards") is widely accepted by Astro followers as leading to a breakdown in communication and technology.

During retrograde is considered a bad time to start a new venture or enter contracts.

You don't have to believe it, but you should react to it.    Do this one fairly simple thing.

BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEMS!

http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/year2010/2010-mercury-retrograde.html

Comments please

Link below is a practical computer backup procedure I wrote in 2009.   Don't be intimidated by it.  You don't have to do every step.    Each step that you do take, great reduces chances of a  catastrophic loss.

A drive image is SO POWERFUL.   Do a drive image, even if you do nothing else!
